Hyderabad , Oct. 13 Even as Andhra Pradesh gears up for the procurement phase, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, Minister for Agriculture and Civil Supplies, has asked officials to ensure that there is no distress sale by farmers. Holding a videoconference with the officials of marketing and civil supplies here on Friday, the Minister asked them to plug the gaps in order to meet the targets in the kharif season. "No farmer should sell his produce even one rupee less than the minimum support price," he said. He called for a co-ordinated effort by the departments concerned to meet the target of 20 lakh tonnes of paddy this kharif.
