Consultant appointed for Delhi airport modernisation

Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) has appointed the US-based Parsons Brinckerhoff International Inc (PB) as the project management consultants for the modernisation programme of Delhi airport.

In a statement, DIAL has said that PB would provide assistance in design review, contract management, project controls apart from management and coordination. Besides, PB would also work with DIAL on construction management of the passenger terminal building, air and landside work of the airport.

Previous projects

Among the global airports where PB has provided its services include Hong Kong International airport, Heathrow in London, Dulles airport in Washington and Terminal 1 at JFK airport in New York. In India, PB has provided programme management services to the Delhi metro phase I and II projects and the Swami Vivekananda bridge in Kolkata.

DIAL is a joint venture company that has won the mandate to modernise Delhi airport. The GMR group hold a majority stake in the company with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) holding a minority stake.
