Singareni pays Rs 44.28-cr dividend

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has paid a dividend of Rs 44.28 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Government out of its profits for the year 2005-06.

The Chairman and Managing Director, Mr S. Narasinga Rao, presented the dividend cheque for the amount to the State Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Monday.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the SCCL has paid dividend to its shareholders. The company has also declared a dividend of Rs 42.38 crore to the Union Government, according to a SCCL press release here.

The SCCL's profitability before tax during 2005-06 was Rs 332.49 crore. The profit after tax for the year was Rs 184.63 crore. The company has been making profits consecutively for the last nine years, the release said.
