NTC workers in TN to get bonus today

Coimbatore , Oct. 17

The employees of the National Textile Corporation subsidiary in Tamil Nadu will receive bonus tomorrow following an agreement reached between the NTC administration and the workmen unions. As per the agreement, the workers entitled to bonus will get 8.33 per cent bonus for the year 2005-06. About 1,500 workers/employees will get bonus. In respect of those who are not entitled to the bonus as per the Bonus Act, the management would offer cash incentive as per a special formula worked out in the previous year which was agreed to by the unions, according to Mr Natarajan, Director (Finance), NTC Tamil Nadu subsidiary. The cash incentive ranging between Rs 2,250 and Rs 2,850 (non-recoverable) will be given to about 4,000 workers.
