Bangalore, Oct. 17

Hewlett-Packard India has introduced two new storage products from its StorageWorks range — the All-in-One 400 and 600 — for small and medium businesses (SMBs) here. The AiO 400 would cost less than Rs 3 lakh, while the 600 3TB model would cost Rs 4.5 lakh. The AiO uses iSCSI interface and can be installed on existing TCP/IP networks. It runs Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 — a dedicated and optimised file and print server.

The product can also work with MS Exchange, SQL, Oracle database and a mini-ERP. It also has Data Protector Express Backup for recovery of critical data. It an attempt to pull enterprises towards network attached storage. "More than 60 per cent of SMBs in India still use direct storage. They are now ready for network attached storage," said Mr Hemant Tiwari, Director, Enterprise Servers & Storage, HP India.
