SMS helpline for women staff

Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 18

Amidst growing security concern for women employees in the BPO sector, IT back-end solution provider, ValueFirst, has launched a SMS helpline that could be used by women to reach out for help. With this, any women employee can send an SMS to the number 6070, which would be automatically forwarded to the local police department of the area.

The service, at present, has been introduced in Gurgaon and would be available nationwide with all mobile operators. Users would have to type the three-letter abbreviation of the city, to specify their location. "Employee security has become a serious concern for women in the BPO sector, especially after few incidents which took place recently. This SMS facility will definitely help if they are in any trouble," said Mr Vijay Shukla, Country Head, ValueFirst.
