Shipping Corpn Q2 net jumps to Rs 321 cr

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has reported a net profit of Rs 321.29 crore in the second quarter of the current fiscal, against Rs 149.95 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal.

The company's income touched Rs 1,129.94 crore during the quarter compared to Rs 767.81 crore in the second quarter of last fiscal. The income includes profit on sale of ships amounting to Rs 40 crore.

The bulk segment, which includes crude and product tankers, dry bulk carriers, gas carriers and phosphoric acid carriers, accounted for a revenue of Rs 853.66 crore (Rs 566.34 crore). The liner segment notched up revenue of Rs 209.14 crore.
