Rane group cos turnover, net higher in Q2

All the four listed companies of the Chennai-based Rane group have reported higher turnover and net profit for the quarter ended September 2006 over the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Earnings per share of Rane Engine Valves only declined marginally to Rs 6.58 for the quarter over Rs 6.60 for the previous quarter. EPS for all other companies increased — Rs 5.05 (Rs 4.34) for Rane Brake, Rs 3.26 (Rs 2.08) for Rane (Madras) and Rs 5.40 (Rs 3.30) for Rane Holdings.

Rane Holdings, which holds investments in and "provides consultancy and other services to" other group companies, saw the highest increase in both net profit and EPS.
