Indian Bank `sweep' facility

Our Bureau

Chennai, Oct. 26

Indian Bank has launched a new `premium' current account with built-in `sweep' facility for corporates, traders, businessmen and professionals.

The facility, which is also being extended to customers under the bank's existing "SB Platinum" account, automatically sweeps surplus funds from a customer's current account or savings bank account and deploys it in term deposits of 7 days to one year.

This will enable customers to earn a higher return on their funds. The facility will be available at 609 branches of Indian Bank where core banking solutions have been deployed.
