Rubber Mixed trend in spot rubber Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Oct. 26 Physical rubber prices showed a mixed trend on Thursday. RSS 4 closed steady at Rs 93 a kg at Kottayam while it improved to the same level from Rs 92.50 a kg at Kochi. According to reports from Kochi, there were no sellers on the grade. Covering groups were still active in the market as certain tyre companies offered even up to Rs 92.50 a kg for sheet rubber. Ungraded rubber continued to rule weak lacking support from the non-tyre sector. The volumes were narrow.
Futures decline
The domestic rubber futures declined on NMCE. The last traded price for November was quoted at Rs 89.25 (90.50), December contract at Rs 84.35 (86.04), January contract at Rs 84.50 (85.99) and February at Rs 86.30 (87.29) per kg for RSS 4. The open interest in November was quoted at 1,792 (1,943) lots, December at 1,549 (1,487) lots, January at 804 (803) lots and February at 270 (233) lots. The transactions totalled 2,386 lots. In the international scene, Spot prices (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4: 93 (93); RSS-5: 89.50 (89); ungraded: 86(87); ISNR 20: 88.50 (88.50) and latex 60%: 61.05 ( 61.05)
