Hindustan Newsprint expansion

The Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Mr Santhosh Mohan Dev, inaugurated the expansion-cum-diversification project of the Hindustan Newsprint Ltd (HNL) at Newsprint Nagar, Piravam, near here. The new factory, scheduled to be commissioned in 30 months as part of the diversification project, will produce 1.7 lakh metric tonnes of paper every year. With this, the total production of HNL would be 2.8 lakh metric tonnes of paper. A delinking plant with an installed capacity of 200 tonnes per day and a captive power plant with 25 MW capacity will also be set up.
