Keltron signs MoU with Durag group

Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (Keltron) has signed an MoU with Durag Group of Germany for marketing, maintenance and after-sales service of advanced equipment for monitoring environment pollution.

The Durag Group is reputed for the manufacture of boiler burners and scanners, apart from environmental pollution monitoring equipment.

Through the tie-up, Keltron will be able to supply the equipment and offer technical support to industries in Kerala at low cost, according to an official statement.

Keltron is currently executing an order worth Rs 4.5 crore for installing pollution monitoring equipment at Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd. This work is being implemented by Kelrton Controls located at Aroor.

Cell for river issues

Kerala will set up a separate cell to handle inter-State river issues, according to Water Resources Minister Mr N.K. Premachandran.

For effective functioning of the cell, the Government would make the services of experts in the field available to it.

The Minister said that an action plan had been finalised to complete the implementation of various irrigation projects in the State in a time-bound manner.

Work on the projects sanctioned by the 12th Finance Commission for preventing sea erosion and inland water transport would commence in December this year, he added.

The Government would release the revised water policy before November 30, and incorporate the various suggestions and amendments that came up at a workshop conducted for the purpose.

Also, a special project would be launched to take up desilting of dams in the State, the Minister said.
