M.R. Hingnikar is GAIL acting chief

Mr M.R. Hingnikar, Director (HR), GAIL (India) Ltd, will hold additional charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director, according to an official release.

He would hold the charge on ad-hoc basis, with effect from November 1 for a period of three months or till a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the release said.

Mr Hingnikar has succeeded Mr S.P. Rao, Director (Projects), GAIL, who retired from services on Tuesday. Two new directors

Mr Santosh Kumar has taken over as Director (Projects), GAIL (India) Ltd, and Mr A.K. Purwaha as Director (Business Development) on Tuesday.

Before taking over the reins of Project Directorate, Mr Kumar was Executive Director (Projects) in GAIL.

According to a company statement, prior to taking over as Director (Business Development), Mr Purwaha served as Managing Director of Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) from September 2001-06.
