Nasscom rolls out BPO skills test

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Nov. 1

Nasscom has announced a national rollout of Nasscom Assessment of Competence (NAC) to assess talent of candidates in the BPO sector by creating a standard assessment and certification framework. This is expected to help companies, governments and universities to customise their talent development initiatives and programmes.

Initially, the programme would start in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan, for which the test will be held in Jaipur and Ajmer on November 18.

It will be later extended to other States. The programme, which has been designed by Nasscom in partnership with Hewitt Associates as well as industry players in ITES and BPO, expects to transform the workforce into an employable workforce

"We are expecting about 2000 candidates across various colleges to take the test in Rajasthan, in the first instance. We are hopeful that this initiative will bridge the demand-supply gap , through the testing, certification and skill set identifying methodologies being used for NAC," said Mr Kiran Karnik, Nasscom President.
