Rajesh Exports has reported 25.06 per cent increase in net profit in the second quarter of fiscal 2006-07 at Rs 21.16 crore compared to Rs 16.9 crore for the corresponding period the previous year.

The company reported revenue of Rs 1,712.8 crore, an increase of 38.8 per cent over Rs 1,233.2 crore.

The higher revenues are a result of a substantial rise in exports, said Mr Rajesh Mehta, Chairman, Rajesh Exports.

He said that with the company entering the retail business in the current fiscal, it was poised to further improve performance.

The company has opened 16 retail outlets under the brand name "Laabh Jewellers".
