Jha assumes charge as Finance Secretary

New Delhi , Nov. 1

Mr Ashok Jha, a 1969-batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has assumed charge as the new Union Finance Secretary here on Wednesday. Prior to this appointment, Mr Jha was Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Union Finance Ministry. Mr Jha replaces Mr Adarsh Kishore, who will join the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on a three-year term as Executive Director.

Meanwhile, Dr Sanjiv Mishra, a 1972-batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, took charge as the Expenditure Secretary. Mr Mishra would continue to hold charge of the Department of Disinvestment.
