Retailing Timex Watches plans 120 Time Factory stores Our Bureau
Bangalore , Nov. 3 Timex Watches Ltd plans to have 120 Time Factory stores in the country in 18 months. The Time Factory is a multi-brand destination store that promises to "deliver an international watch experience to the consumers." According to Mr Kapil Kapoor, Vice-President - Asia, and Managing Director, Timex Watches, "The Time Factory is a one-stop destination for mid-priced and premium international watch brands and provides choices for different occasions and addresses the various needs of consumers." Mr Kapoor was speaking at the inauguration of the 32nd Time Factory store in the country and the sixth in Bangalore. The store was inaugurated by cricket commentator Charu Sharma and the Kannada actor Sanjana Gandhi. The brands available at the Time Factory are Nautica, Opex, FCUK (all brands launched in India by Timex), apart from Timex, Esprit and Pierre Cardin. Mr Salil Sadanandan, Senior Vice-President - Sales and Marketing, Timex Watches, said plans are on to refurbish Timex's six exclusive shops into Time Factory stores. The Rs 100-crore company, after a lull period, scripted a turnaround in 2004-05 by posting a net profit of Rs 0.72 crore on net sales of Rs 78 crore. Timex has had a 50 per cent year-on-year growth in 2005-06.
