Re gains 7 paise on FII inflows

The rupee strengthened by around seven paise against the dollar on Friday on the back of FII inflows into the stock markets. "Since August there has been a good amount of FII inflows, which has helped the rupee," said a dealer at a private bank.

The home currency opened at 44.90/91 and closed at 44.82. On Thursday, the rupee had closed at 44.89. In forwards, the six-month premium closed at 1.98 per cent (1.88 per cent) and the one-year premium at 1.84 per cent (1.78 per cent).
