Bangalore , Nov. 2

Norwest Venture Partners today announced a $ 10-million investment in Sulkeha.com, a community and networking portal, which plans to expand its services to the growing Internet community in tier two cities in the country.

Mr Promode Haque, Managing Partner of NVP, will join the Sulekha board as a member.

Sulekha.com, which received from Indigo Monsoon Group , a private investment company, its initial funding of $4.5 million over a six-year period from 2000, is betting on the extension of broadband usage in smaller cities to broaden opportunities for users. Sulekha , through its services including blogs, social networks, classified advertisements and Yellow Pages, hopes to maintain 100 per cent growth in revenues, said Mr Satya Prabhakar, founder and CEO of the company.

He, however, declined to give the figures.
