Kolkata , Nov. 6

Jet Airways on Monday announced the launch of daily flights to Port Blair and Bangkok ex-Kolkata. Effective from November 11, the airlines will launch a daily flight on the Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata sector. The flight will leave Kolkata at 5 am and reach Port Blair at 7 am. The return flight will leave Port Blair at 7.35 am and reach Kolkata at 9.35 am.

From January 18, Jet Airways will operate a Boeing 737-800 flight on the Kolkata-Bangkok-Kolkata sector. The timings will depend on the slots that are to be made available to the airlines. There will be an inaugural offer for the first 30 days. A return ticket on this sector will cost Rs 6,000 plus taxes as applicable during the period.

Addressing newspersons, Mr Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Chief Executive Officer of Jet Airways, said the traffic potential on the Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata sector was huge. An indication in this regard was the fact that ever since bookings opened for flights between Kolkata and Port Blair, they were fully-booked for the next three months. Mr Prock-Schauer said the "flight to Bangkok is not the end our international operations from Kolkata".
