Students in the arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu can now write Business English Certificate examination offered by the Cambridge University, UK.

According to an official press release, the Tamil Nadu Government has entered in to an agreement with the British Council, Chennai, to offer Business English Certificate course of the Cambridge University. The objective is to enhance the job opportunities for the students through improved English communication skills. Multinational companies recognise the certificate course.The Directorate of Collegiate Education will implement the programme, which will be available in Government, Government-aided and self-financing colleges. The courses will be optional and conducted after working hours.
