Mangalore , Nov. 8

The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT), in association with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), will conduct a trade meet in Bangalore on November 10.

A press release by the NMPT said here on Wednesday that the purpose of the meet is to apprise importers and exporters in the State about the facilities available at the New Mangalore port.

The meet will help them make use of infrastructure available at the port for the smooth and quick movement of their cargo. Many importers, exporters and main line operators are expected to attend the meet. The meet will be held at Hotel Grand Ashok in Bangalore at 6.30 p.m.

The release said that the port is all set to handle any type of cargo with utmost efficiency. The commissioning of Mangalore-Hassan stretch of railway line for freight traffic and the creation of a deep-draught multipurpose general cargo berth and other related infrastructure have contributed immensely for the growth of the port, the release added.
