CSE scam: Kamal Parekh files plea

Kolkata, Nov. 8

Mr Kamal Parekh, one of the prime accused in the Rs 120-crore Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) scam in 2001, filed a petition before Calcutta High Court today seeking quashing of the chargesheet, submitted by Kolkata police in relation to the said scam.

In June 2006, the Kolkata police filed a charge sheet against the accused persons where the name of Kamal Parekh was included. Kamal Parekh, in the petition before the court, stated that he was in no way connected to the scam and his name was wrongly indicted by the Investigating Officer. The matter shall be heard on November 14.
