Visakhapatnam, Nov. 8

An exhibition of jute diversified products, organised by the Jute Manufactures Development Council (JMDC), was inaugurated in the Prahlada Kalyana Mandapam here on Wednesday by Mr N. Srikanth, the Municipal Commissioner.

He said eco-friendly, stylish jute products should be encouraged and synthetic bags shunned. Mr B. Narasimhulu, the Market Promotion Officer of the JMDC, said the fair would remain open till November 14. The JMDC is planning to hold a workshop in Hyderabad on promotion of jute-diversified products in January 2007.
