Kannan Devan land survey

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 9

The State Revenue Minister, Mr K.P. Rajendran, has denied reports that a private agency from outside the State is being roped in to carry out a survey of the land held by the Kannan Devan Company. The State Government has in fact granted the mandate to the National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), an affiliate of the Department of Space.

The Kerala High Court had recently directed that the survey of the Kannan Devan lands be completed within six months. Outside help was being sought since the State's own Survey Department was not in a position to complete the survey within this timeframe, the Minister clarified.
