Tourism States - Kerala Focuz inks medical tourism pact Our Bureau
Kochi Nov. 10 The Focuz Group has entered into an agreement with the Canada-based `Unbelievable India' to promote medical tourism in Kerala. A new partnership company between Focuz Holidays and Unbelievable India called BestMed Tourism has been set up to work singularly towards this goal. Mr P.T. Jose, Chairman of Focuz Group, who is just back from Montreal after finalising the deal, said: "The company will focus its efforts on promoting and organising medical tours in Kerala. We will be providing modern medical facilities to the North American customers who can combine medical care and leisure at rock bottom prices, compared to the American and Canada markets." Not only are the cost of medical care and procedures too high in the US and Canada, but there is also a long waiting period for most surgeries and treatments, a press release from the company said. Kerala will be able to provide quality medical care in a friendly environment at a cost that is unimaginable to the Western mind.
CANADIAN TEAM COMING
In a preliminary move, a two-member medical team from Unbelievable India will visit Kerala soon for an in-depth audit and analysis of various hospitals that are under consideration. The Unbelievable India team will ensure that the hospitals can provide the kind of care and service standards that the North American visitors expect. India has become a premier alternative for medical, surgical and dental patients seeking relief from high costs and long delays from North American medical systems. BestMed Tourism will coordinate all aspects of medical tour in coordination with the hospitals. The group is already promoting yoga tours, study tours, business tours, ayurveda tours and sightseeing tours in India, with special focus on Kerala.
