The Executive Director of the Indian Bank, Mr M. S. Sundara Rajan, commissioned the bank's 346th automated teller machine (ATM) at the Manapparai branch recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sundara Rajan said Indian Bank stood first in extending credit linkage to the self-help groups in the State and had disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 189.12 crore to the SHGs so far during the current fiscal. Only 30 per cent of the countrymen were having access to the banking services, he said and added that in order to widen the coverage, the bank had introduced `No Frill Account' under which all families would be covered under the savings bank concept without any minimum balance.
