Traders' welfare board reconstituted in TN

Our Bureau

Chennai , Nov. 12

The Tamil Nadu Government today announced that it had reconstituted the Traders' Welfare Board. The Board, whose Chairman is the Chief Minister himself, will have as members 20 representatives from as many traders associations across the State, according to a press release from the Government.

Mr S Rethinavelu, President, Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a member of the reconstituted board, said the board, served as a useful forum to discuss any problem of the traders directly with the Chief Minister. "The board assumes greater significance in the context of the imminent introduction of VAT in the state," Mr Rethinavelu told Business Line. — Our Bureau
