Jute States - Tamil Nadu TN fairs to have special windows for jute products G. Gurumurthy
The facility would be extended through the local office of the jute councilin Chennai.
Coimbatore , Nov.12 The fairs and exhibitions being organised by the Tamil Nadu Government and its different organisations henceforth will allot special counters for marketing jute-based products. This follows the Tamil Nadu Government acceding a special request made by the Puducherry-based development of hessian articles research and training institution , which has sought allotment of space for jute manufacturers in government fairs. According to a recent communication from Mr C.P. Singh, Secretary, Department of Handlooms, handicrafts, textiles and khadi of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Secretary to Tamil Nadu Government had recently announced that the State will provide special counters for jute manufacturers in government fairs/exhibitions organised by the government departments. In this regard, Mr Singh has in a communication addressed to the heads of the State handloom, handicraft departments including the special officer of the cooptex informed about the Government direction in this regard and has asked them to make available suitable counters to jute product manufacturers. The communication said such facility for the jute producers would be extended through the local office of the Jute Manufacturers Development Council in Chennai.
