RBI guidelines

This is with reference to "More directions" (Business Line, November 11). Given the pace of infrastructure development, making farming `truly bankable' is likely to take a few decades. Measures such as allowing foreign banks to enter rural India under well-defined laws and removing the restrictions on opening branches can create a competitive atmosphere, enabling better services.
