Scientist bags Ranbaxy award

Dr Ahmed Kamal, a scientist at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, has been awarded the Ranbaxy Research Award for 2005 by Ranbaxy Science Foundation. The award is in recognition of his excellent scientific contribution in the field of medical and pharmaceutical sciences. Dr Kamal is credited with 170 scientific publications and 40 patents. Five US patents have been licensed to US-based pharmaceutical companies for clinical trials, according to a press release from the IICT.
