New Chairman for IPC

Kochi, Nov. 14

Dr Michael Dosim Lunjew, the Secretary-General, Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Government of Malaysia, has been named as Chairman of the International Pepper Community for 2006 - 2007, according to IPC sources. He replaces Mr Tissa Wickramasurya, the outgoing Chairman of IPC for 2005-2006, who is also Secretary at the Ministry of Agricultural Development, Government of Sri Lanka. Malaysia is scheduled to host the 35th session and other related meetings of IPC in 2007.
