HP launches new printer models

New Delhi , Nov. 16

Hewlett-Packard on Thursday announced the launch of its multi-function printer for both large as well as small and mid-sized businesses aimed at reducing the usage of stand-alone copiers by businesses.

Further for high volume workloads and multiple applications, the company has introduced `Edgeline Technology' printer. The company will address the local printer market, where it already claims a significant market share, with this product.

In the inkjet category, the company claims 80 per cent market share, followed by Mono Laser with 74 per cent, laser printer stands at 75 per cent and in multi function printers, it has a 37 per cent share in the second quarter of 2006. Commenting on the company's expansion plans, Mr Puneet Chadha,Country Manager-Commercial Sales, Imaging and Printing Group, HP, said, "We would be increasing our sales force in the country. However, this would depend on relative growth and it would be difficult to assign number to that at present."
