Mergers & Acquisitions Moser Baer buys stake in US firm Our Bureau
New Delhi , Nov. 16 Moser Baer India Ltd has announced that it has acquired a "significant minority stake" in California-based Stion Corporation, formerly known as Nstructures, through its wholly owned subsidiary Moser Baer Photo Voltaic Ltd (MBPV). This investment follows the recent strategic equity participation by MBPV in two other solar concentrator technology companies, Solaria and Solfocus. According to Mr Ratul Puri, Executive Director, Moser Baer, "This third investment is in line with the company's earlier announcement of putting in $17 million into MBPV for investing in emerging solar cell technologies." Mr Ravi Khanna, CEO, Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd, said, "This is in line with our strategy to reduce the cost of solar power generation significantly by straddling multiple future technologies and emerge as an engineering and technology driven company."
