Airlines States - Kerala Gulf Air plans daily flights from Kochi Our Bureau
Kochi , Nov 16 Gulf Air intends to operate daily flights from Kochi in the Muscat-Bahrain sector from December 15 to January 31, 2007 with the limited open sky policy announced by the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, which is to be effective from December 15 to January 31 next year. At present, the Gulf Air operates five flights in a week from Kochi and the passenger revenues have increased by 24 per cent in the first 10 months of the current year, Mr Rajeev Nambiar, General Manager, Gulf Air, said.

Mr Nambiar, who was here to give away the Gulf Air India Agents Awards, said that Kochi had shown the biggest growth for the airline in the passenger traffic compared to any other destinations. It has also taken several steps to showcase Kerala as a tourism destination particularly in Europe by offering Gulf Air Holidays package, which included airfare, stay and other value added services like ayurvedic treatment. The airline has won many awards for the quality of its service and its innovative products such as the Sky Chefs, Sky Nannies. It had recently won the "Best Business Airline" award at the British Travel Awards held on the final day of the World Travel Mart expo in London, he said.
