PEOPLE HELP the driver of a goods carrier come out of the vehicle after it met with an accident in Kochi recently. Reports by the National Transport Planning and Research Centre reveal a three-fold increase in road accidents in Kerala and two-fold increase in death by road accidents in the past two decades. Last year alone saw 41,678 accidents in which 3,051 persons died and 26,959 were injured.
