To set up duty-free shops in Delhi airport

New Delhi , Nov. 16

A consortium of the UK based Alpha Airports Group and Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd, has been awarded the duty free shopping contract for the Delhi airport.

In a statement, the promoters of Delhi airport, Delhi International Airport (private) Ltd, has indicated that the value of the contract, which is valid for three years and three months, is about Rs 500 crore.

The new consortium is expected to start functioning from January next year and would feature an extensive range of products by some of the popular brands including Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein and Nike among others.
