Rubber declines on global trend

The rubber market recorded all-round losses on Friday. The prices fell as overseas markets extended the losses further following declines in gold and oil products futures.

On the physical front, sheet rubber closed at Rs 79 a kg against Rs 80 at Kottayam and Kochi. Nobody is keeping the stocks now, sources said.

Futures slip

On MCX, the December contracts declined to Rs 78.25 from Rs 79.16 a kg. The transactions stood at 382 tonnes. The December contract on NMCE fell to Rs 78.10 (Rs 79.30), January contract to Rs 79.30 (Rs 80.30), February to Rs 80.61 (Rs 81.49) and March to Rs 82.00 (Rs 83.16) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 79 (Rs 80); RSS-5: Rs 77 (Rs 78); ungraded: Rs 74 (Rs 75); ISNR 20: Rs 77 (Rs 78); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 50.50 (Rs 51.60).
