ICICI Pru H1 premium up 143 pc

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance's new business weighted premium has grown 143 per cent in the first half to Rs 1,626 crore (Rs 668 crore). New business weighted premium gives only 10 per cent weightage to single premium.

The company has underwritten 6.58 lakh policies during the period and the sum assured in force stands at Rs 64,113 crore. The company's assets stood at Rs 11,423 crore as on September 30. "We have almost doubled our distribution during the year, with around 400 branches across the country," said a release quoting Mr N.S. Kannan, Executive Director.
