The Jago Grahak Jago advertisement released in public interest by the Department of Consumer Affairs educates viewers that a commodity can be purchased below Maximum-Retail-Price (MRP).

It is a bitter fact that many manufacturers print MRP that is more than the ex-factory price.

This malpractice should be checked by imposing MRP-based excise-duty on all commodities.
