Agricultural Institutions Industry & Economy - Rural Development States - Kerala Rs 30-cr Nabard aid for Kerala Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram , Nov. 20 The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 30.25 crore to the Kerala Government for implementing 99 projects being executed by various departments. A significant part of the assistance under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF), will be utilised for 30 rural road and 52 rural bridge projects in all districts being implemented by the Public Works Department. The amount earmarked for this purpose is Rs 26.49 crore. The assistance also includes Rs 2.17 crore for 15 rural road projects in nine districts.
Another project for a fisheries harbour at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district will receive assistance of Rs 1.53 crore.
With this, the total disbursement made to the State Government by Nabard under the RIDF has gone up to Rs 1,731 crore.
From April 2006 till date, the total disbursement to the State Government by Nabard under the RIDF is Rs 101.76 crore as against Rs 54.31 crore during the same period last year, according to Mr B.S. Shekhawat, Chief General Manager, Nabard.
