Mozambique in talks with Coir Board

A high-level official delegation from Mozambique headed by the Governor of the Province of Zambezia, Mr Carualho Muaria, visited the Coir Board office here on Monday and held discussions with the Board Chairman, Mr A.C. Jose.
Apart from the Governor, the delegation included eminent personalities such asMr Mohamed Rafik Hassane Ismael Vala, Provincial Director of Agriculture, Ms Maria Alice Daniel, District Administrator of Inhassunge, Mr Bernado Joao Antonio, District Administrator of Mocube, and Ms Josefa Singh-Sang, Technician, Provincial Directorate for Commerce and Industry.
The delegation attended a meeting where various matters connected with the development of coir industry in Mozambique were discussed at length.
PRESENTATION
A presentation depicting various facets of the coir industry was made before the delegation.
Mr Jose explained the activities undertaken by the Board for the development of coir industry in India. The delegation was impressed with the way the coir industry converts waste into wealth and the presentation highlighted the potential for setting up coir-based industry in places where coconut husk is available.
The team members evinced keen interest for developing the coir industry in their country. They appealed to the Government and Coir Board to extend maximum possible technical support for the development of the industry in Mozambique.
