New Projects States - Andhra Pradesh BJN Hotels in expansion mode Jyothi P. Iyer
Hyderabad , Nov. 21 BJN Hotels with 13 restaurants in Bangalore, is on an expansion binge. It has lined up four new restaurants and two banquet halls in the biryani-capital, to be opened in a fortnight. With an initial project cost of 15 crore in Hyderabad, the group is setting up all these restaurants on the same floor, to be called BJN Floor, in a mall named City Centre in the posh Banjara Hills with total area of 75,000 sq ft. The hotel chain already has its presence in the city with its restaurant Angeethi, a Punjabi-style Dhaba. Mr P.B. Nichani, Chairman and Managing Director of BJN Hotels, told Business Line: "We want to replicate the success-story of Bangalore here and expand our existing brands. Therefore, the names of the restaurants also will remain the same as they are in Bangalore, which are - Aromas of China, serving Cantonese and Shanghai cuisine, Indi Joe, an all-day diner with a bar, Sahib Sindh Sultan that captures the period look of the bygone era and Firangi Paani, an aristocratic English pub. The two banquet halls are to be called Presidential I and II." These fine-dine facilities would have a seating capacity of 160-220 each and the banquet halls would have a seating capacity of around 600 each. "The costs would be economical, while the facilities and ambience would be star class," he added. The group is also planning outlets in Mumbai and Pune with a project cost of Rs 20 crore by the year-end to totally reach a figure of 30 restaurants including the ones in Bangalore and Hyderabad, according to him. On the radar are plans to have an all-India presence by next year-end with outlets in Calcutta, Chennai, Delhi and Chandigarh, Mr Nichani who was in city to have a look at the restaurants said.
