It proposes to set up its office in Coimbatore

Coimbatore , Nov. 21

IBM is in the process of expanding its presence into 14 new locations in the country. The company's decision to expand is consequent to the exciting business opportunities in this space, says Mr Lingaraju Sawkar, Vice-President (Small and Medium Business), IBM.

Coimbatore ranks high among the various destinations where it proposes to set up its office. "It is the most vibrant city in the country, witnessing increased level of activity. The local organisations take an active part in the overall development. The talent pool is available in plenty," he said and hinted about the company establishing its office here before the end of the year.

"The Indian market has a strong local flavour and this is necessitating us to be closer to our customers," he said, justifying the company's decision on expansion and reach.

IDC has estimated the SMB market at $5.4 billion.
