BPL board to meet on Nov. 23

BPL Ltd will seek its board's approval for a proposal to lease or transfer its alkaline battery business to a joint venture. Company sources said that one of the joint venture partners will be a private equity investor; no names have been finalised, they added. The board is expected to meet on November 23 to consider and approve the proposal as well as audited accounts for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2006.
