Rubber dips on lack of buying support

Declining global indices induced further pressure on the physical rubber prices. The market fell lacking proper support from major manufacturers though the supplies were meagre.

RSS 4 weakened to Rs 78.50 from Rs 79 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi.

Futures weak

The domestic rubber futures followed the trend on MCX quoting the December contract at Rs 75.97 (Rs 76.77) a kg for RSS 4. The transactions for the month stood at 561 (541) tonnes.

The December contract for RSS 4 moved down to Rs 76.60 (Rs 77.73), January to Rs 76.10 (Rs 78.24), February to Rs 77.38 (Rs 80.05) and March to Rs 78.85 (Rs 81.56) per kg trading 2,566 (2,098) tonnes on NMCE.

The spot rubber prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 78.50 (Rs 79.00); RSS-5: Rs 76.00 (Rs 77.00); Ungraded: Rs 74.00 (Rs 74.50); ISNR 20: Rs 76.00 (Rs 77.00) and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 49.45 (Rs 50.50).
