Parry Travels plans to expand

To focus on leisure travel of first time travellers

Chennai , Nov. 23

Parry Travels, a part of Parry Enterprises India Ltd, plans to grow its presence in India by branching into six metros and smaller towns, according to Mr Kaushik Bannerjee, Head, Parry Travels. He said that the company was targeting a turnover of Rs 70 crore in 2006-07 from Rs 20 crore in the previous year.

Currently, Parry Travels has a presence in Chennai and Hyderabad and the bulk of the business is from the Murugappa Group companies. Parry Travels plans to focus on leisure travel of first time travellers. Another segment that the company is targeting is the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) market. Companies, which have a turnover between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 200 crore, would be the target group.

Parry Travels has also tied up for finance with Cholamandalam DBS, a Murugappa Group company. Passengers can avail themselves of monthly instalment scheme with repayments being as low as Rs 800 per month for travel to Singapore, he said.
