Mumbai, Nov. 25

The Maharashtra FDA has asked pharmaceutical major Wockhardt Ltd to withhold sales and withdraw Wosulin 50-50 injection vials (insulin) after

carrying out investigations on a sample of the drug manufactured at the Aurangabad factory. The vials have been distributed in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi. A sample of the drug has been sent to the Central Research Institute, Kasauli, for analysis. "We have received some reports about the quality of Wosulin vials and we are investigating the same. Prima facie it appears to be due to improper temperature during transit. Meanwhile, we are withdrawing the stocks as directed by Maharashtra FDA," said a company spokesperson.
