Kolkata , Nov. 26 State Bank of India, Bengal Circle, covering West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has so far donated Rs 66 lakh to 14 organisations as part of the bank's commitment to community services and social welfare activities. On Saturday, the bank's outgoing Chief General Manager, Mr U.S. Roy, and the new CGM, Mr A. Mukand, jointly handed over cheques worth about Rs 30 lakh to five organisations Ramakrishna Mission Samaj Sevak Siksha Mandir; Ramakrishna Mission, Satgachi; Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Kamarpukur; Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Siriti; and Sane & Enthusiast Association of Calcutta. They also donated computers to Kidderpore Oriya High School and State Legal Services Authority. SBI, according to a spokesman of the bank, donated every year 1 per cent of its profit for the promotion of community services and social welfare activities.
