Jurong India, KSR group plan Rs 800-cr township

Ch.R.S. Sarma

Visakhapatnam , Nov. 26

Jurong India, a subsidiary of Jurong International of Singapore, and KSR group are planning a mega Rs 800-crore township on 80 acres at Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam, according to Mr Rao Munukutla, CEO of Jurong India.

He was addressing a press meet here on the occasion of the inauguration of a club in the Sunny Isles project of the group at Rushikonda on the Vizag-Bheemunipatnam road by Mr Tang Tat Kwong, President and CEO of Jurong International Group.

He said the proposed township would have an IT park, a Vizag mall, five-star hotel and a golf course, "all measuring up to international standards." Jurong India and KSR group would be equity partners in the venture and several US companies would also participate in the equity, he explained.

Plush Villas

The project — christened Global Entropolis — would be completed in 39 months from now. The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) would allot the required land.

The Sunny Isles project at Rushikonda, taken up at a cost of Rs 45 crore by the KSR Group and Jurong India, comprises 54 plush villas facing the Bay of Bengal and the club would have all facilities. "It is a repeat of the premium villa township in Bangalore," he said.

Tourist Destination

Besides the above two projects, Jurong was also undertaking another major housing project at Mahurawada near here on its own and a star hotel — Tranquil Inn — here in association with the KSR group.

"These projects would really give a shot in the arm to tourism and IT sectors and contribute to the overall growth of the city," he said.

Mr B.G Reddy, Director of KSR group, said the membership fee for the club in Sunny Isles would be Rs 50,000 and 1,000-1,500 members would be taken.
